Technology Museum

Save the Machine is home to hundreds of technology artifacts.  Our collection ranges from computers of the 1980s to LaserDiscs to 1960’s mainframe equipment.  We’re continually restoring and preserving vintage technology so future generations can experience the technological growth that’s occurred in the last few decades.

We rely on donations and volunteers.  If you’re interested in contributing time, money, or making a physical donation, see the Contribute page to learn more or use the Contact Us page to reach out to us.  We welcome people from all walks of life to join our effort, regardless of your background, knowledge level, etc.

Visit Us

Save the Machine is located within Caldwell County, North Carolina. With the uncertainty of 2020 surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult decision to let our lease at the Hudson Uptown Building expire until we had a better idea of what the future would hold.  Since then, we have focused our efforts on building an online presence via our Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. As it becomes safer to go into public, we are exploring public meetups and museum popups.  Keep an eye on our Facebook Page for event announcements. At this time, we are seeking a new location to build our museum and workspace.  If you know of a facility that might make a great home for our museum and collection, please reach out to us using our Contact Form.
